JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF ONE HEAD OF DIVISION FOR MARKETING AND DISTRIBUTION

Context and justification

ACMS (Association Camerounaise pour le Marketing Social) is recruiting one (01) Head of Division for Marketing and Distribution (M/F).

The successful candidate shall have as main mission to plan, organise, manage, and control all the marketing, communication, and distribution/sales activities of ACMS.

ACMS (Association Camerounaise pour le Marketing Social), which is partner with Population ServicesInternational (PSI) is a not-for-profit non governmental organisation specialised in th social marketing of health products and services and in the communication of the change of behaviour. It also operates in the areas of HIV/AIDS prevention, malaria, reproductive health, prevention and management of diarrhoeal diseases. Thanks to its distribution network, ACMS ensures the availability and accessibility of prevention products and/or treatment of the aforementioned diseases and infections over the national territory.

Working relationship

S/he directly works with Heads of Division, Coordinators of Programmes/Projects, Research/M&E,

Administration and Finance, so as to coordinate marketing, communication and distribution/sales activities based on the guidelines and priorities of each sector of intervention. Moreover, s/he must ensure that all social marketing and communication interventions carried out by ACMS are based on research data (research evidence) that would help to better target them.

Job description

Answerable to the Deputy Executive Director, the Head of the Division for Marketing and Distribution shall be mainly tasked with the:

A. Marketing/management of brands, products and services

The Head of Division for Marketing & Distribution with support from the Senior Coordinator of Marketing & Sales is responsible for the strategy, development, and management of the life-cycle of the various products/services and brands through the different "categories" or health areas covered by ACMS. These include products and brands within the areas of Family Planning, Child survival, HIV, Malaria, non-transmissible diseases, etc.

More specifically s/he shall:

  • Plan and coordinate the development of annual marketing plans based on research data, together with the heads of programmes and with the support of the Executive Director;
  • Monitor the implementation of plans and ensure the achievement of various objectives related to products/services and brands concemed;
  • Ensure gradual cost recovery, and beyond as applicable, for different products and brands of Social Marketing.

B. Communication & Média

The Head of Division for Marketing & Distribution with the support of the Senior Communications Coordinator is responsible for defining and implementing appropriate strategies in communication and choice of media, both in terms of communication on products and brands and in strategy changes. S/he must develop and deploy the most appropriate communication technique vis-à-vis consumers and target audiences, through the most effective and efficient communication channels and media.

More specifically s/he shall:

  • Plan and coordinate the development of communication plans, integral parts of marketing plans, in collaboration with the managers of the various areas of intervention;
  • Plan, organize, direct and control ACMS communication activities with special attention to quality (form and content) and relevance of tools, activities and communication means used to achieve intended targets;
  • Ensure the effective placement of media in partner media (Radio, TV, billboards, etc.) and ensure the implementation of control standards and procedures for this purpose;
  • Define, negotiate and establish new partnerships in order to enhance and maximize the impact of communication and promotion interventions of products and services.
  • Ensure that success indicators defined for each programme and action can be measured in collaboration with the Research team;
  • Follow the process of identifying needs in terms of local partners (NGOs, local Associations, Community Radio, Female Groups, Local Committees for the Fight against AIDS, etc.) for the implementation of marketing and operational plans.
  • Ensure that a synergy exists between IEC/CCC community-based activities, mass-media communication activities and distribution activities.

C. Distribution&sales

The Head of Division for Marketing & Distribution with support from Distribution & Marketing Service is responsible for the provision of ACMS' offerings portfolio services and products to buyers, consumers and target audiences, through the various categories. S/he shall make that they implement the best strategies for distribution and sales, supported by a resilient, sustainable, effective and efficient distribution infrastructure, through relevant distribution networks which are: FMCGs' network (consumer Wholesalers, MPS / Medium and Small Surfaces, etc.), franchised Profam, the Pharmaceutical network, the Public Sector, CBD (Community-based Distribution) and mass distribution (free and not free).

More specifically s/he shall:

  • Set annual sales targets per product/service, region/zone, network/distribution channel and per promoter, depending on sales history, but especially on market share and growth rate targeted. S/he must ensure the achievement of these objectives;
  • Develop a sales performance monitoring mechanism in each region, sector and per area of intervention.
  • Plan, organize, manage and control the sales and distribution activities with particular attention to the performance of wholesalers, the collection of sales invoices, the rate of out of stock in retail outlets and the quality of distribution coverage at a national level.
  • Develop distribution approaches to improve and enhance the availability and accessibility of ACMS' social marketing products.

D. Management, administrative tasks and other duties

  • Human resource management/team development
  • Financial management
  • Management of advertising materials product inventory
  • Relationships with Partners and Donors
  • Writing reports and participation in the drafting of submissions to donors
  • Etc.

Required qualifications and professional experience

  • Be of Cameroonian nationality;
  • Must hold a Master degree in Marketing and Commercial policy, Comercial negotiation, Communication and sales force or any other equivalent certificate.
  • Must have a minimum of seven (07) years of experiences in marketing, communication, business management or monitoring of the distribution network of consumer products or sales promotion;

A. Knowledge

  • A good knowledge of the business environment;
  • Must be excellent in Marketing, Public Relations, Sales/Distribution, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Research
  • Good knowledge of related sectors such as advertising, media, digital;
  • Good knowledge of both English and French;
  • Basic knowledge on HIV /AIDS, reproductive health, and maternal and child health;
  • Experience required in the private sector; especially in the areas of consumer products.

B. Skills

  • Proven leadership in an inter-cultural setting;
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in and with a team;
  • Strong presentation skills;
  • Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Experience with other database management programs, such as Access or other is an advantage;
  • Strong fiscal management and strong ability in handling figures;
  • Skills in enterprise resource management systems (human, material and financial);
  • Ability to work with limited supervision;
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, to prioritize needs, and work effectively under pressure.
