The World Bank office is currently searching for a Driver to provide an effective and efficient day to day logistics transport function for the Office in Yaounde, Cameroon. S/he will work as part of the office car pool and will drive office vehicles for transport of authorized personnel usually within Yaounde, Cameroon but also in the surrounding regions and countries. S/he will be responsible for the delivery and collection of mail. S/he will report to the Resource Management Officer.

Roles & Responsibility 

The Incumbent’s duties include but are not limited to:

• Transport authorized personnel to/from airports, meetings, appointments, and other official duties,Transport authorized personnel on business travel to/from locations throughout Cameroon
• Ensure the delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items.Meet official personnel at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities
• Ensure day-to-day maintenance of vehicles, checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.Perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs.Ensure that vehicles are kept clean always
• Follow all steps required by the World Bank Road Safety Policy in case of travel and accidentLog all trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, lubrications, etc.
• Strict adherence to the World Bank’s Road Safety Policies and procedures as well as the country’s National High Way Code.Assist in protocol, visa, airport clearance
• Any other duties as may be required for the mission of the World Bank

Selection Criteria

High School Diploma or EquivalentAt least 5 years driving experience, defensive driving skills being an advantagePossess a required valid driving License with experience in driving 4X4 wheel drive carExcellent knowledge of road safetyGood communication skills in French or EnglishKnowledge of The WBG or UN security procedures and road safety policies would be an advantage. Knowledge of Cameroon working environmentGood geographical knowledge of Cameroon and other countries in the sub regionAbility to work long hours and weekendsKnowledge of computers – MS office is desirableCommitted team player with demonstrated inter-personal skills and ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural/disciplinary environment and able to produce high quality work under pressure.
