CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF BILINGUAL EDITORIAL SECRETARY FOR THE 100% JEUNE WEBSITE MAGAZINE
Background and rationale:
In view of the implementation of its youths-targeted activities within the framework of the HIV-AIDS prevention project in Central Africa (PPSAC), phase 5. The Cameroon Association for Social Marketing (ACMS) is seeking to recruit a Bilingual Editorial Secretary for the 100%Jeune Website Magazine.
The PPSAC project, in its 5th phase, has maintained the implementation of activities targeting young people, particularly through the 100%Jeune project. The 100%Jeune Magazine and the website www.reglo.org are two important pillars of this project.
The successful candidate will have to possess strong analytical and editorial skills. As a key editorial staff of the 100%Jeune Magazine and website the incumbent will be based in Yaoundé and will be responsible for text formatting and production of the magazine’s design as well as preparing all editorial documents.

Position level: 7th category, level B of tertiary sector II of the National Collective Agreement on Trade.
Job Description
Under the supervision of the Editor-in-chief, the Bilingual Editorial Secretary of the 100%Jeune Magazine and website will have the following main responsibilities
1-Production of the 100%Jeune Magazine
- Monitor and supervise freelance reporters in their fields activities;
- Contact and facilitate access to specialists and stars for freelancers;
- Participate in editorial meeting with the magazine’s freelance reporters;
- Ensure the formatting and editing of magazine texts;
- Monitor the magazine layout by the design editor;
- Select the best images for the illustration of the magazine;
- Forward to the editor-in-chief the review and corrected texts for proofreading following the 100%Jeune editorial line;
- Ensure magazine visibility during special events.
2-Updating of the website
- Monitor and supervise freelance reporters in their fields activities;
- Contact and facilitate access to specialists and stars for freelancers;
- Participate in editorial meeting with the magazine’s freelance reporters;
- Ensure the formatting and editing of magazine texts;
- Monitor the magazine layout by the design editor;
- Select the best images for the illustration of the magazine;
- Forward to the editor-in-chief the review and corrected texts for proofreading following the 100%Jeune editorial line;
- Ensure magazine visibility during special events.
3-promotion of other pillars of the project and distribution of the magazine
- Monitor and supervise freelance reporters in their fields activities;
- Contact and facilitate access to specialists and stars for freelancers;
- Participate in editorial meeting with the magazine’s freelance reporters;
- Ensure the formatting and editing of magazine texts;
- Monitor the magazine layout by the design editor;
- Select the best images for the illustration of the magazine;
- Forward to the editor-in-chief the review and corrected texts for proofreading following the 100%Jeune editorial line;
- Ensure magazine visibility during special events.
4-Monitoring-Evaluation
- Ensure the reporting of activities carried out within the framework of your responsibilities;
- Produce website and magazine editorial meeting reports;
- Archive all proofs and print Orders;
- Produce: monthly, quarterly, and annually
- 5-participation in other project activities
- Participate in all activities of the project;
- Participate in marketing plan development workshops;
- Participate in the 100%Jeune protest campaigns;
- Perform any other duties assigned by hierarchy.
Qualifications and professional experience required
- Be at least 21 years old and at most 30;
- Hold a graduate diploma Journalism;
- Have at least 2 (two) years of proven and documented experience in print media and/or website (internships including);
- Be perfectly bilingual;
- Have a mastery of software such as Word and Excel.

- Have a good elocution;
- Have a good analytical mind;
- Have good public relations skills;
- Be honest and demonstrate commitment and ability to work in harmony with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures;
- Have a structured mind and good aptitudes in oral and written expression;
- Be willing to work under heavy time pressure and be self-questioning;
- Respect the confidentiality of “100%Jeune” and ACMS related information;
- Perform tasks on time with minimal supervision;
- Good interpersonal skills and proven ability two work in a team.
