JOB DESCRIPTION : UNITAID Project Assistant

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS, working in 19 countries and at over 5,500 sites around the world to prevent the transmission of HIV to children, and to help those already infected. EGPAF seeks to recruit one (01) Project Assistant for the UNITAID Project– Cameroon.

LOCATION: Yaoundé, Cameroon

REPORTS TO: UNITAID Country Implementation Manager

DURATION: 01 year renewable, beginning on the 13rd February,  2017.

Job Purpose:

To support the UNITAID program management by providing assistance to program logistics, accounting and administrative assistance and in addition, implement administrative procedures to ensure cost effective and timely handling of business administrative issues.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Providing administrative support for national and regional level meetings and workshops;
• Handling and management of program field advances;
• Maintaining the monthly calendar of program planned activities;
• Tracking progress on the implementation of UNITAID point of Care activities at national, regional and district level.
• Maintaining a physical and an electronic database of workshops’ participants lists, TORs, TWGs, minutes of meetings, and activity reports;
• Coordinating the logistics for meetings, workshops and trainings: drafting budget preparation and purchase request, participants list
• Processing of program requests through the Verian procurement system;
• Tracking program expenditure and compare it to actuals.
• Any other business assigned by the line manager.

Minimum Requirements

• University degree in Administration or Public Health or health cadre with at least two years of working in HIV related programs at district, regional, or national level;
• Experience working in a NGO funded project will be an advantage;
• A very good mastery of Microsoft package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is mandatory.
• Fluency in English and French is a key requirement;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Strong work ethic and ability and willingness to work under pressure;
• Ability to work in team settings and willingness to learn;
• Cross-cultural competence as demonstrated by confidence and ability to make relevant presentations to diverse audiences.
