Mission Summary
This is a unique dual-skill role designed for a hands-on professional.
The main objectives are to:
- Develop Business Activities: Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities through public procurement and project submissions.
- Manage Technical & Sales Operations: Oversee the complete procurement and tender response process, ensuring full technical and commercial compliance.
- Provide IT Infrastructure Support: Act as the in-house IT expert, maintaining and repairing all company IT assets, including security camera systems, laptops, and desktops, to ensure operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
A. Technical Sales & Business Development (70%)
- Market Research & Lead Generation: Identify and assess new project and tender opportunities from government bodies, private sector companies, and international donors in Cameroon.
- Tender Management: Manage the full lifecycle of tendering:
- Source opportunities on national portals (e.g., ONECAM, Cameroun24, Cameroun-Infonet).
- Analyze tender documents, and understand technical and financial requirements.
- Prepare and compile high-quality technical and commercial proposals, ensuring 100% on-time submission.
- Liaise with suppliers and partners for quotations and supporting documentation.
- Procurement: Handle procurement processes for projects, sourcing equipment (e.g., security cameras, IT hardware) at competitive prices while ensuring quality and compliance with tender specifications.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, partners, and government stakeholders.
- Business Development: Actively develop new business avenues and strategies to increase the company’s market share in IT and security solutions in Cameroon.
B. IT Management & Technical Support (30%)
- IT Infrastructure Management: Act as the first point of contact for all IT-related matters in the office.
- Security Systems Management: Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the company’s internal CCTV surveillance systems.
- Hardware Repair & Maintenance: Diagnose, repair, and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, and other IT peripherals.
- Network Support: Provide basic network administration support, including router, switch, and Internet connectivity management.
- Software Support: Install and configure operating systems and standard software applications; provide user training and basic support.
- IT Asset Management: Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT equipment and software licenses.
Candidate Profile – Technical Sales & Support Specialist – Yaoundé
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years proven experience in a technical sales role, with a strong focus on tender preparation and submission in Cameroon.
- Solid experience in procurement and supply chain management.
- Hands-on IT support experience, including hardware repair (laptops, desktops) and installation/maintenance of CCTV systems.
- A verifiable track record in business development and client acquisition is essential.
Required Skills
- Technical Sales Acumen: Ability to understand technical specifications (IT and security products) and translate them into commercial proposals.
- Tender Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the tendering process in Cameroon, including legal and financial requirements (bonds, attestations, etc.).
- IT Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing IT hardware.
- Practical experience with CCTV systems (analog/IP cameras, DVR/NVR).
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems and basic networking (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi).
- Languages: Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken) is mandatory to handle official documents and a wide range of clients.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional capacity to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously with high accuracy.
- Driver’s License: A valid Cameroonian driver’s license is preferred.
