This role will be a permanent position at our COOKO research facility in Ntui, Cameroon. 

Position: Procurement Officer

Location: Ntui, Cameroon

Reporting To: Site Manager

Start Date: Exact date to be confirmed. September 2024

Job Description: As our Procurement Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in securing a steady supply of cocoa for our fermentation centers. Your role involves:

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning: Translate commercial and production plans into practical supply strategies.
• Supplier Relations: Discover and onboard reliable cocoa suppliers to ensure supply and improve efficiency.
• Market Insights: Research new supply markets and collaborate with farmers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Negotiation: Support negotiations with farmers, cooperatives, and local groups to agree on fair terms.
• Logistics Support: Coordinate closely with logistics teams for smooth cocoa transportation.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor supplier performance to maintain quality and delivery standards.
• Data Management: Maintain accurate procurement records using up to date documentation and relevant company tools.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related fields. Certification (e.g., APICS) is a plus.
• must be fluent in English and French
• Experience: Minimum three years in procurement, ideally within cocoa,  agriculture or manufacturing environments.
• Skills: Strong negotiation skills, knowledge of supply planning, and familiarity with international procurement standards.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Google Suite (Sheets, Drive, Forms), MS Suite (Word, Excel). Valid driver’s license required.
• Personal Qualities: Organized, analytical, and able to work independently. Integrity and adaptability in rural settings are crucial.

• Flexibility: Able to adapt to variable schedules and occasional travel.
