JOB REQUIREMENTS – WORKSHOP ASSISTANT MANAGER/ FORMAN
A reputable Transport/logistics Company in Douala requires a suitably qualified and dynamic Workshop ASSISTANT MANAGER/FORMAN to join their team.
he incumbent in the position will report directly to the Technical Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least an advanced degree or an associate degree in mechanical or automobile engineering, or any other related technical field of study
- Valid driver’s license is essential.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 5 progressively responsible years’ experience in the maintenance and operation of mechanical systems, equipment, trucks, preferably within the fleet and transport industry, of which at least 3 years have been in a supervisory role.
- Sound experience in mechanical “fault” finding and repairs minimum of 3 year’s sound experience – Non-Negotiable.
- Managing of workshop Personnel minimum 3 years sound experience – Non-negotiable.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
- Good verbal and written and communication in English – Non-negotiable.
- Ability to communicate in French will be a bonus.

- Excellent planning, organising and time management ability.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills with strong leadership, supervisory and administrative/documentation proficiency.
- Flexible to work extended hours and weekends and potentially in different locations when necessary.
- Experience in developing preventative maintenance schedules for large fleets based on type, age and curative maintenance history.
- Analytical report writing with focus on diagnostic key performance indicators.
- Computer literate with mastery of ERP software and other electronic tools
- Experience in working within a multi-cultural environment.
- Self-adaptable to procedures and standards.
- Responsive and perfection in area of functionality, coupled with a concern for quality, accuracy, and Safety.
- Portray a honest and trustworthy work ethic.
- Flexible to take on additional tasks as and when required.
- Vehicle testing after services and Maintenance.
- Must be able to conduct mechanical work (work with hands and climb under vehicles) and lead by example.
