Plan International, Inc., acting through its branch office in Cameroon is an international Child Centered Community Development Organization with no religious, political or governmental affiliation working in Cameroon since 1996. Plan Cameroon is looking for a suitable Cameroonian for the position of Administrative Coordinator to be based in its Maroua Program Unit with a possibility to be transfered anywhere in Cameroon. The contract is for one year renewable. It will be governed by Cameroon Labour Law.

Main responsabilities

Under the autority of the Program Unit Manager, the Administrative Coordinator will among any other tasks:

  • Manage the bulk purchassing of vehicle parts, office and sponsorship supplies and materials;
  • Analyze and submit reports of vehicles and operationals costs;
  • Ensure the renewal of insurance and vehicle registration;
  • Coordinate the review/renewal of contracts: leases, utility service, guard service, insurance, repairs and maintenance, and vehicle registration;
  • Supervise and report quarterly on Physical Inventory taking and recommends disposal of junk supplies and fixed asset.
  • Ensure that new fixed assets are properly registered in Logema and numbered;
  • Perform other functions that maybe prescribed from time to time.

Qualification and Experience

  • University Degree in Law preferable and or Business Administration
  • Minimum of two years of previous work experience in office administration;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, preferably bilingual;
  • Good computer skills(Word, Excel, PowerPoint...).
  • Demonstrated behaviours needed by the post-holder to successfully perform the role:
  • Promotes innovation and learning;
  • Communicates clearly and effectively;
  • React promptlyl to clients' queries;
  • Ability to work in team;
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Ability to train field staff.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of office and administration practices;
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety practices in Workplace;
  • Knowledge of Procurement, Assets and Logistics Management would be an asset.

Skills Specific to the post needed to put knowledge into practice

  • Establish and maintain effective and positive relationships with those contacted in the course of the work;
  • Be proactive;
  • Planning and organization skills;
  • Time management skills;
  • Supervision and leading of staff, including training;
  • Decision-making and problem solving skills;
  • Good leadership skills.
