Creative Associates International Cameroon Limited (Creative Associates) is preparing for the implementation of USAID’s Office of Transition Initiatives program in Cameroon. The two-year program will be working to strengthen inter-community relations through local initiatives that empower youth and increase social cohesion. The USAID/OTI Cameroun program will work at the local level in partnership with local organizations.

POSITION SUMMARY: Project Security manager

The project Security Manager’s (PSM) overall mission is to keep all project personnel and assets safe from harm. S/he has delegated responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of operational field security activities. Ensures compliance with corporate security policies and maintains liaison with the Regional Security and Operations Manager for West Africa (RSOM). This employee will be appointed by the Chief of party with concurrence from the RSOM. This position will be based in the Maroua office, with program activities expected to be carried out throughout the far North. Extensive understanding of the security issues in the far north and frequent travel throughout the Far North is required.

Education & Qualifications Requirements: required skills include but are not limited to the following:

• Must have been a senior officer from the Cameroonian military
• Four-year university degree in a security-related field, or
• Minimum of six (6) years general work history is required
• Minimum of four (4) years professional experience in security management for a USAID-or other international donor-funded program(s) or project(s) required
• Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience working in complex and challenging field operational contexts
• Written and spoken fluency in French  and English required
• Fluency in one or more of the local languages used in the northern Cameroon is required.
