The Public Affairs Office of the U.S. Embassy in Yaounde, Cameroon is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Clerk (Grade FSN-05/FP-09).

Duties

The Administrative Clerk participates in the planning, development, implementation, and administration of the Mission’s Public diplomacy (PD) programs by providing advice and assistance regarding the feasibility of program operations from the standpoint of funds, staff, facilities, program equipment and other resource requirements. The incumbent manages and closely tracks the Public Affairs Section’s budget in concert with the Financial Management Office, and is adept in other systems governing grants and procurements.

Qualifications and Evaluations

  • EXPERIENCE: At least two years of progressively responsible experience in budgeting, bookkeeping, accounting, financial management, or grants management is required.
  • JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must be able to learn and become familiar with the inventory system software; Must good knowledge of how to maintain supply records and complete order forms; Must be able to learn Embassy's maintenance procedures.
  • Education Requirements: Technical High School diploma (GCE ‘A’ Level or BACC or equivalent diploma) in accounting or finance is required.
  • Evaluations: LANGUAGE: Level III (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/reading/writing English and French are required. “This may be tested”
  • SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have the ability to anticipate and plan for the usage of expendable supplies; must have good computer skills (MS Word and Excel); Must be able to communicate clearly and to maintain and update equipment inventories and records. 
  • Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
