JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

A Development Organization is seeking the services of qualified, experienced and highly motivated MEAL Field Assistant who will support all MEAL activities of the Logone et Chari Integrated Protection, WASH, and Livelihoods, Emergency Response 2018-2020 at field level, including communicating key project information and results with project stakeholders, setting up and monitoring of feedback mechanisms and collecting or reporting on key project data you will assist project implementation by working directly with local partners and community members, coordinating various project activities and events in support of Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable.

Specific Responsibilities: 

1. Support the coordination and monitoring of project activities at the field level, ensuring implementation schedules are met as met as per the detailed activity plan, and that adherence to systems for quality project implementation are strengthened 
2. Coordinate communication and facilitate information sharing among the project team, implementing partners, and project beneficiaries at the community level to assist local partners in strengthening the community interest, involvement and support networks
3. Liaise with various community stakeholders and mobilize them to ensure full involvement of community leaders, community representatives, and local government representatives in the overall implementation and improvement of project activities
4. In coordination with the project team support capacity building events for community representatives
5. Coordinate, monitor, and report on volunteer activities
6. Compile data provided at the community level as per project requirements and contribute to the preparation of reports
7. Collect quality data using paper and/or digital MEAL tools on a timely basis
8. Input data into database ensuring accessibility and relatability of information under the guidance of a more senior MEAL or program staff
9. Assist in communicating key project information and results with community members and colleagues
10. Participate in community-based conservations on ongoing project interventions
11. Share insights and perspectives based on observations and interactions with community members and colleagues
12. Check on functioning of field-level community feedback mechanisms under the guidance of a more senior MEAL or program staff

Education and Experience

1. Bachelor’s Degree would be a plus
2. 1 – 2 years of work or volunteer experience relevant to job responsibilities
3. Computer literate

Personal Skills

1. Observation, active listening and analysis skills with ability to make sound judgment
2. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups
3. Proactive, results-oriented and service-oriented

Required Travel: Regular travel to project in Makary and Kousseri, and occasional travel to Maroua or Yaoundé

Work Environment: Kousseri is a town in the Logone and Chari department. It has limited infrastructure, markets offers a variety of goods, and there are a few local restaurants. Electrical Blackouts are frequent, and internet service is a limited.
