Position: Regional Security Technician

Work Hours: Full time, 40 hours/week
The U.S. Mission in Yaounde, Cameroon is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Regional Security Technician. This position is located in Yaounde, Cameroon.

Basic Function of The Position
Under the direct supervision of the Security Technician Specialist, the incumbent inspects, installs, maintains, and repairs unclassified technical security equipment; makes recommendations to improve technical security at all U.S. Government posts for which Security Engineer Officer is responsible such as: Yaounde, Douala, N’Djamena, Bangui, and Malabo. There may be requirements outside SEO Yaounde’s specified region that arise unexpectedly.
Detailed Duties and Responsibilities for Regional Security Technician:
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: (a) inspecting, installing, maintaining and making recommendations for improvement of the security equipment at U.S. embassies and other United States Government (USG) facilities in the region; (b) maintaining and repairing all closed circuit television (CCTV) and related equipment; (c) maintaining walk-through metal detectors (WTMDs); (d) installing, trouble-shooting, maintaining, and upgrading public address systems; (e) maintaining and repairing security doors; (f) trouble-shooting and repairing traffic barricades and vehicle arrest systems; (g) maintaining and inventorying all locking devices, power supplies and public address equipment: (h) ensuring adequate stocks of components and spares for repairs; (i) documenting work in written reports to the officer in charge (OIC) of the engineering services office (ESO) and to interested regional security office (RSOs) (j) performing other duties as directed by the ESO or local RSO to support the overall technical security program.
