Viana’s Home Ltd is a resort company that offers services such as; lodging, gaming, restauration, and recreation within the neighbourhood of Nkoa-bang, Yaounde-Cameroon. She seeks therefore services of a General Manager.
The job description of the General Manager of Viana’s Home encompasses a wide range of responsibilities aimed at overseeing all aspects of Viana’s Home’s operations and ensuring its overall success.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Strategic Planning and Leadership: Develop and implement Viana’s Home's overall strategic vision, goals, and objectives in alignment with the company's mission and values. Provide strong leadership and direction to the management team and staff to achieve organizational goals.
- Financial Management: Oversee all financial aspects of Viana’s Home, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, cost control, financial reporting, and profitability analysis. Ensure Viana’s Home operates within budget and achieves financial targets.
- Operational Oversight: Direct and oversee all Viana’s Home operations, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, sales and marketing, maintenance, human resources, and administrative functions. Monitor performance metrics and operational efficiency to drive continuous improvement.
- Guest Experience and Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of guest service, satisfaction, and experience by ensuring the delivery of exceptional hospitality services, amenities, and facilities. Implement quality assurance programs and standards to uphold Viana’s Home's reputation and ratings.
- Sales and Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth, increase occupancy rates, and maximize profitability. Identify market trends, target audiences, and competitive positioning to attract and retain guests.
- Revenue Optimization: Implement revenue management strategies and pricing tactics to maximize revenue per available room (RevPAR) and overall profitability. Monitor market demand, adjust pricing strategies, and optimize inventory distribution channels.
- Human Resources Management: Recruit, train, and develop a competent and motivated workforce. Foster a positive work culture, employee engagement, and teamwork. Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and career development opportunities for staff.
- Community and Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with local communities, business partners, industry associations, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Represent Viana’s Home in public forums, events, and networking opportunities.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, codes, and industry standards, including health and safety regulations, employment laws, licensing requirements, and environmental regulations. Mitigate risks and liabilities through effective risk management practices.
- Property Maintenance and Capital Investments: Oversee property maintenance, renovations, and capital improvement projects to ensure Viana’s Home's physical assets are well-maintained, aesthetically pleasing, and functional. Allocate resources effectively to prioritize projects and investments.
- Crisis Management and Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans, crisis communication protocols, and disaster preparedness procedures to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and assets during emergencies and crises.
- Reporting and Communication: Provide regular reports, updates, and communication to the executive team, owners, investors, and other stakeholders on Viana’s Home's performance, financial status, operational challenges, and strategic initiatives.

Job specification:
This position requires:
- 5 working days in a week (Monday through Friday)
- Working longer hours and weekends to meet deadline

- Advanced knowledge in M.S office suit
- Salary is competitive and based on qualification and experience
- Position is based at Nkoa-bang, Yaounde-Cameroon
- Reporting to the board of directors
Candidate’s Specification
- Must be a holder of at least an degree in logistics/hotel management or a higher degree in business management. Master degree and beyond is an advantage.
- Must have at least 8 years of experience working in senior management positions.
- Must be very bilingual in French and English.
- Must be an effective communicator and can represent Viana’s Home anytime need arises.
- Must be aged between not less than 40 years.
