JOB ADVERT: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

LITTORAL, CAMEROON

MPower Ventures, a global for-profit start-up in the energy access area (www.mpower.africa), is looking for an independent and entrepreneurial business development associate in Techiman.
This is an exciting opportunity in a fascinating and rapidly growing field and in a start-up environment.

The main tasks of the associate are summarized below:

• Developing growth strategies and plans
• Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients
• Increasing client base
• Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition
• Writing business proposals and negotiating with stakeholders
• Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs
• Researching business opportunities and viable income streams
• Following industry trends locally and internationally
• Drafting and reviewing contracts
• Reporting on successes and areas needing improvements

The required skills and experience are summarized below:

• First professional experience in business development, sales or related fields either in Cameroon or in another African market
• A MSc or MA in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Finance or any relevant field is desired with a passion for clean energy
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in French and English
• Team player and eager to learn new tools and roll-up sleeves to get the job done
• Entrepreneurial and creative mindset,
• Understanding of the factors driving consumption of solar or similar products
• Additional languages are a plus.

The position is available immediately. The company is still early stage and can tailor the position to your interests. The salary depends the former work experiences and qualifications.
