DESCRIPTION

APDEL is an association under Cameroonian law with its headquarters in Dschang in the Western region. APDEL's mission is to fight against social inequalities that hinder the participation of the population in development, particularly that of youth and women. It carries out its activities in 3 regions of Cameroon (Center, North-West and West). The organization's interventions are focused on socio-economic integration, health, social cohesion, human rights and local governance. More details: www.apdel.cm

As part of its activities, APDEL is looking for two (02) motivated and dynamic Field Agents. The Field Agent assigned to Dschang will have the Bamboutos Department as his or her area of intervention and occasionally the Menoua Department. The Field Agent assigned to Bamenda will have the Mezam Department as his/her area of intervention.

MAIN OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES.

1. Community Mobilization

•  Participate in the identification of communities and beneficiaries of the association's activities;
•  Ensure the involvement and participation of traditional, religious and administrative authorities and other opinion leaders in community activities;
•  Ensure that community partners understand the association's intervention principles;
•  Ensure that the principles and policies of the association are respected by community actors;
•  Accompany project beneficiaries in the implementation of their activities in the community.

2. Supervision and reporting

•  Supervise the work of the community-based groups;
•  Monitor the activities of the beneficiaries in the different communities;
•  Coach the beneficiaries;
•  Produce periodic reports to his/her hierarchy.

PROFILE REQUIRED

• To be a holder of a driver's license category "A" and to know how to drive a bike (motorcycle);
•  GCE-A level  + 2 in economic sciences, or agricultural sciences;
•  Experience of at least one year in monitoring agricultural projects;
•  Experience in monitoring income-generating activities;
•  Experience in the identification and monitoring of beneficiaries;
•  Bilingual (French, English);
•  Knowledge of Pidgin is an asset.
•  Previous experience in civil society is an asset;
•  Good team player;

•  Ability to work in a multicultural context.
