VACANCY NOTICE
UNICEF wishes to request applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following post:

Under the supervision of ICT Officer, provide technical, operational and procedural support and end-user services in the implementation and support of information management(systems, procedures and activities) of the office.
KEY DUTIES AND TASKS
- Assist the Information Communication Technology(ICT) Officer, in managing the Country Office and the Zonal Offices network(LAN, WLAN, WAN), troubleshooting ad-hoc hardware and software problems experienced and monitoring continuous network and communications connectivity.
- Ensure installation and miantenance of commputer and communications equipement, Conducts in close relation with the ICT Officer on a periodic basis of the office data backup and their retrieval during BCP implementation. Arrange storage of equipement and consumable. Install projector in conference room or outside during office workshop.
- Assist the ICT Officer, in maintaining equipment inventory. Manage loan of equipement. Prepare weekly report of equipment on loan, status of consumable and ICT request received.
- Assist the ICT Officer in regularly maintaining software and system, such as upgrading and patching, according to global roll-outs. Monitor virus activity in the network and ensure regular update of virus signatures.
- Assist the ICT Officer in developing the office training plan on computer software and application, based on OrganiZational requirements and priorities, Contribute to the preparation of user training manual and delivery of actual training.
- Assist the ICT Officer in testing periodically the BCP equipment on recovery sites. Monitor good functionnality of voice telephony network(fixed and mobile telephone) and HF/VHF radio networks. Configure telephone extension and VHF handset. Perform weekly radio check.
- Perform other duties, as required.
QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCIES
Education
- Completion of secondary education supplemented with formal training(at University level) in computer science, information systems and telecommunications or related disciplines. Some industry wide vendor certification in a technically relevant field would be an asset.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 5(five) years of practical work experience in information technology, computer information management work, including experience in data processing application, multi-user network and telecommunications, hardware/software installation, user assistance in support of office computerization, as well as systematic methods of troubleshooting and analytical problem solving, providing assistance to users on IT products and services, and use of applications and diagnostic tools.
- Work experience in emergencies would be an asset.
Language Proficiency
Fluency in French and good working knowledge of English are required. Competency Profile
