The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is a global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS, working in 15 countries and at over 7,000 sites around the world to prevent the transmission of HIV to children, and to help those already infected. Today, because of the highly successful work of the Foundation and its partners, pediatric AIDS has been virtually eliminated in the United States. With a growing global staff of over 1,000 - nine of 10 who work in the field - the Foundation’s global mission is to eliminate pediatric HIV and AIDS by implementing HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs; further advance innovative research; and to execute strategic and targeted global advocacy activities to bring dramatic change to the lives of millions of women, children, and families worldwide.



The Finance Assistant (FA) for HIV Free Center Project. will be a member of the Operations team and will be co-located with and supervised by the Admin Finance Officer in Bastos, Yaoundé, Cameroon.

The FA will work towards the achievement of the Foundation’s goals efficiently and effectively. This position will be responsible for ensuring that all administrative and finance activities of the HIV Free Center project are done in compliance with Foundation rules and regulations.

The Finance Assistant will conduct assigned activities to support the establishment and maintenance of the functioning of the HIV free Project as required by EGPAF. The FA will be responsible for ensuring that all financial activities for the project are timely and in compliance with Foundation rules and regulations, to include Quick Books entry, and preparation/processing/tracking of payment vouchers, advances, expenditures and reporting. Ensuring the completeness of each advance retirement or justification.

Regular job activities and requirements will include:

  • Cash management, including banking and disbursements, in accordance with established Foundation procedures.
  • Ensure that all invoices received from vendors are organized and supported by proper documentation.
  • Ensure that all advance request from project staff are properly authorized by the authorized signatories.
  • Timely preparation of monthly project activities budget,
  • Prepare all payment vouchers
  • Capture all transactions into Quick Books system
  • Track and process field and travel advances
  • Process all expenditure reports, insuring that expenditures are allowable, allocable and reasonable costs, and charged to relevant donors.
  • Ensure the timely submission of project staff Timesheets.
  • Ensures that all the Project assets are clearly maintained and managed.
  • Ensure the disbursement of fund only after all authorization have been received
  • Assist in the performance and completion of special projects and other admin duties as required.

Essential Requirements:

  • A holder of a BSc in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
  • A Part qualified professional certificate from a reputable accounting body like ACCA, CIMA will be an asset.
  • At least 1-2 years of continuous professional experience in same field in an INGO or multinational company.
  • Knowledge of the QuickBooks accounting package
  • Microsoft office savvy
  • An excellent mastery of the English language and a working knowledge in French
  • Knowledge of USG regulations
