EGPAF Data Clerk

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS, working in 15 countries and at over 7,000 sites around the world to prevent the transmission of HIV to children, and to help those already infected. Today, because of the highly successful work of the Foundation and its partners, pediatric AIDS has been virtually eliminated in the United States. With a growing global staff of over 1,000 - nine of 10 who work in the field - the Foundation’s global mission is to eliminate pediatric HIV and AIDS by implementing HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs; further advance innovative research; and to execute strategic and targeted global advocacy activities to bring dramatic change to the lives of millions of women, children, and families worldwide.

EGPAF Cameroun is looking to recruit 25 Data Clerks.

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Strategic Information and Evaluation Officer, the Data Clerk will work to ensure success of the EGPAF Project’s agenda of improving HIV Free Centre Project through continuous quality improvement, data quality assessments, technical assistance and capacity building health care workers at Health facilities of the Djoungolo Health District, in support of strategic information activities. S/he will provide support to M&E and data management components within the HIV Free Centre Projects and at the facility level.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the update of registers at all entry points of the health facility/renewal of tools;
  • Provide mentorship and facilitation on modalities to fill systematically all variables according to their modalities;
  • Collect data in all registers at the end of the day, check the internal coherency and prepare the monthly report form (hard and soft) of the facility to be send to EGPAF office;
  • Use existing check list to control the quality of data;
  • Validate data with the team (linkage agent, psychosocial agent);
  • Discuss validated data with the senior Technical officer/senior nurse;
  • Data entry on the MRF (hard and soft) of all data bases;
  • Storage copies of the MFR filled;
  • Transmission of copy of the data (MRF) to EGPAF office before the 5th of the following month;
  • Assist in the basic analysis of data according to the cascade of each service as well as feedback on a weekly basis;
  • Participate in data quality audit;
  • Participate in data review;
  • Participate in any other documentation process of the facility;

Responsibilities:

  • Registers updated with new variables/new tolls available
  • Mentorship report (maximum is one page);
  • Weekly tally sheet for all services are filled;
  • Check list of the control of MRF filled and available;
  • Minutes of the validation of data with the team (1 page);
  • Minute of the validation of data with EGPAF Technical officer/Senior Nurse;
  • MRF available (Hard and Soft) for all data bases;
  • Storage files available;
  • Monthly report of good quality data is received by the 5th of each month;
  • Completeness of data entry form for dashboard;
  • Report on Data Quality Audit/Supervision mentioned their participation;
  • Report/presentation of data review indicating their contribution;
  • Report on activities indicating their contribution 

Required Qualifications

  1. Level: advanced level minimum;
  2. Language: bilingual (French and English). However, speak French fluently to mentor somebody else in French;
  3. Information technology: have a minimum knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel minimum) and the Internet/autonomous;
  4. Other skills required: Good interpersonal skills, available and flexible on times, be interest in public health, be rigorous and motivated
